Case study : Lord of the flies The book focuses on a group of British boys stranded on an uninhabited island and their disastrous attempt to govern themselves. Objective: Building a Character/Theme I will be analysing the themes and characters that have similarity towards our storyline. Characters Ralph - The novel’s protagonist, the twelve-year-old English boy who is elected leader of the group of boys marooned on the island. Ralph attempts to coordinate the boys’ efforts to build a miniature civilization on the island until they can be rescued. Ralph represents human beings’ civilizing instinct, as opposed to the savage instinct that Jack embodies. Idea: Ralph embodies the sister who tries to bring back her relationship with her brother and get him back to his senses. the message of their novels is that societies can never be truly perfect, but can get better if individuals work together in democratic pr...
