Story Development

Basic story line

1. It’s a Saturday and Jamie is in his room packing. (Dramatic Expendtion).
2. Jamie is about to leave his room and Alice is on the stairs outside playing with sticks.
3. Jamie tells Alice that he is looking for his sister and there is a map.
4. They first go to an Farmer’s Market as Alice looks for Sophie’s picture on Facebook and Jamie opens up his book.
5. They go to the ice cream parlour.
6. They go to the art store.
7. They go to the memorial spot where Sophie had her car crash.

Idea flow:

• What if Sophie died in the car crash because of her boyfriend. Where Alice has a crush on Jamie and trying to help him but Jamie keeps pushing her away because he thinks relationships are bad like Sophie’s boyfriend who in his eyes “killed her”.

• Instead of Sophie being dead it is actually Jamie.
• The whole film jumps from Jamie’s Young self to his older self
• Jamie is on the journey alone until you find out sophie is alive he is just a lost spirit.
• Jamie is on this journey (very experimental and creative journey as his isin a digital world) trying to find his sister then at the end he finds a circuit board or the face of the AI where he “meets” his sister. His sister exclaims that he had a weak body and the had to put him in the AI to survive. (Maniac)
• Jamie died from an allergic reaction.
• Jamie is in a coma and the family/sister needs to pull the plug.
• Jamie is trying to find his sister but then he is in a coma due to his diabetes for example.

Basic timeline:

(First) It it breakfast time,Jamie and Mother are in the kitchen she is doing the washing he is having his breakfast. Mother is asking Jamie what he going to do at school that day.

(Last) It is breakfast time, however this is the day after Jamie’s funeral

Final timeline:

1. White Transition (like light when reborn or when you’re about to die)
2. The Day after Jamie dies
